Top Five Dating Sites To Watch In 2011

As we say goodbye to 2010 and welcome in 2011, I thought I ‘d take a look at five dating sites that I feel are going to have a great 2011. 

Online dating has definitely come into it’s own over the last few years, and never before have so many people been going online to find love.  The main reason is simple. 

With our economy continuing to struggle, it’s much more economical and practical to join an online dating site than it is to spend countless hours each week in bars only to see the same people every week. 

You’ll waste a ton of money this way, and more than likely, will be just as lonely the next morning as you were the night before.

However, with online dating, the sky is the limit.  There are so many different types of online dating sites in so many different categories.  If you’re new here, check out the menu to the left, and you can see all the different niche categories available.  With that being said, here are five dating sites that I feel are poised to make a huge impact in 2011. 


NoStringsAttachedNo Strings Attached is poised to explode due to the release of the movie, No Strings Attached, starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher. In the movie, Natalie and Ashton are friends who decide to have sex with no strings attached. This has become a very popular dating niche over the last few years. There is something to be said about having a one-night stand and NOT having to feel guilty about calling the person ever again.

That’s the premise of this site. If you’re looking for a casual encounter with a beautiful man or woman, and you are NOT looking for a long-term relationship, then this site is perfect for you. It’s FREE to join, so give it a look. It’s definitely going to be both a popular and controversial site for 2011!


Ashley Madison is a lot like No Strings Attached above. It’s a controversial dating site that has exploded in popularity over the last couple of years.

It seems there are quite a few people who feel “trapped” in a dead-end relationship and are looking for a way out. Enter sites like Ashley Madison where singles can discreetly find each other for a midnight rendezvous or for a long-term relationship. Either way, you’re going to have a lot of fun on this site.

It’s definitely worth joining for free just to look around. Just be careful when you join as it’s definitely NSFW…

BBW Dating Sites – Rather than specify a specific site, for this “site”, I’m going to talk about the category as a whole.  If you’re not familiar with the term BBW, it stands for Big Beautiful Woman.  Over the last ten years, the term has really taken off online.  There are a number of BBW dating sites I recommend you join.  You can see all of them in our BBW section.

This isn’t actually new news as it actually happened around 500 B.C. according to this article on NBC-2.com.

So, if you really want to read your “Real” horoscope, then here are the new dates, which include a new sign called Ophiuchus, which is what you are now if you were born between Nov. 29 – Dec. 17.

Incidentally, Ophiuchus in Greek means ‘serpent-bearer’:

A New Study Shows That One In Three Relationships Start Out Online

A new study shows that one in three relationships start out online.

According to an article by Tony Castro for the Los Angeles Daily News:

“Between 2007 and 2009 alone, the study titled “The Rise of the Internet as a Social Intermediary” found that just under 30 percent of couples in the survey met their partners online. Only friends help to hook up more couples than the Internet these days.”

Also, “All told, 40 million Americans look at online dating sites each month, with online dating revenues growing 10 percent to 15 percent per year and, according to Piper Jaffray & Co., on pace to hit $1.9 billion within three years — marking a revolution in the way people meet and court one another.

Dating sites on the Web now claim they are responsible for one out of every five new relationships, and Pasadena-based eHarmony maintains that every day an average of 236 singles marry a match they met on the site.”
